Summer Mission Program for 2007!
Come Make a Difference
Over the last twelve years many disciples from overseas have joined in the work here.
members of churches in other countries with an interest in helping us reach out to
people throughout Greater China.
The Taipei Church
The Taipei International Church of Christ began in 1991 with a team of 12 Christians
from the Hong Kong and Boston Churches of Christ. Today, we are blessed with over
500 new disciples of Jesus who have been reached by the Taipei church and its church plantings in Hsin Chu and Taichung. Today, it is the largest Mandarin Chinese-speaking congregation in our fellowship of churches.
Our Mission
Our mission is enormous--together with the Hong Kong Church of Christ and other, smaller congregations in the region, we are planting new churches throughout Taiwan and beyond.
What is a "Mission Adventure"?
We are seeking Christians who are willing to support themselves, either as students of Chinese or as English teachers, while building friendships and sharing their faith. It is not necessary that they speak Chinese, although an interest in learning will help. Many, many jobs as English teachers are available, and pay a living wage.
We will:
- Help you find work or fulltime study opportunities;
- Provide both formal training and informal discipling in sharing your faith with Chinese people; and
- Help you navigate the process for getting a visa.
Are You the One?
You may be especially suited to this challenge if:
- You find a concern for world evangelism is often in your heart and private prayers;
- You like challenge, and don't really want to settle into a suburban lifestyle yet;
- You do not have any dependents;
- You have a strong interest in Chinese language or culture;
- You enjoy sharing your faith and making friends, especially with overseas students or immigrants.
Ready to Learn More?
Contact the Mission Adventure coordinator for more information about how you can participate.
For Church Leaders
Please let other disciples and ministry leaders know about this program. We welcome links from websites of churches. Please be aware, however, that there are special concerns related to mission work in this area. For this reason, we ask that you first contact the Mission Adventure coordinator with any questions or for more information about how you can present this opportunity in your church.
